Rest, Renewal & Refreshment for ministry families

Since vacation season is upon us, I thought it would be fun to let you know of some great places that offer discounts or free lodging for pastors! Please note that you’ll need to do your own research. I’ve not stayed at these places but the discounts are worth looking into!
At the end of the list, you’ll notice a link that lists several vacation houses and retreat centers that minister to hurting pastors and their families through life-coaching, counseling and encouragement.
Whitestone is a bed and breakfast located on Watts Bar Lake, Tennessee. There is a 50% discount for full-time pastors, Sundays through Thursdays.
Other resorts offering discounts to pastors are Branson Condos in Missouri and Kona Ocean Condos in HAWAII. Visit pastorcondo.com for instructions on reserving your condo.
Pinecove Christian Camp has camps in Texas for youth and family retreats and offers pastors, missionaries and seminary students a free stay during the fall and spring. It must be dates that do not conflict with their camp season. In order to inquire, call their offices at 877-474-6326.
Deer Ridge Ministries, located in Freeport, Illinois offers free lodging for pastors and their spouses. God has called the founders of this ministry to provide a needed refuge for pastors and their spouses. They provide a place of peace, refreshment and rest for body and soul at no cost to their guests. A $100 deposit is required to secure your reservation but is returned to you upon arrival.
The Eagle’s Nest is a Christian Retreat Center that overlooks Normandy Lake in Tennessee. There is no charge for ministry families to stay. Love offerings are accepted but not necessary.
And if you’re in the mood to visit the beaches of South Carolina, check out Myrtlewood Villas in Myrtle Beach! The owners of this condo offer incredible discounted rates for those in ministry. Use this special discount for a time of private devotion and study or as a getaway with your family.
Canna Country Inn is a bed and breakfast located in Etters, Pennsylvania. Canna offers a discounted rate for ministry families. Log on to cannainnbandb.com for more info.
Through the Christian Hospitality Network, over 900 hotels in the U.S.A. offer discounts of 25 – 50% to pastors, missionaries and full time Christian workers. You can make your reservations by accessing their website: christianhospitalitynetwork.org.
Located in Greeneville, Tennessee, The Harbor is a place for pastors, CEOs, couples and young people to come and get renewed physically, emotionally and spiritually. The typical cost per night to stay at Elijah’s Harbor at one of our 4 bedroom fully furnished homes is $150. For ministers, the cost is $75 per night.

Another amazing retreat center is Winshape Retreat! Its Chick Fil A’s retreat center in Rome, GA. Lead Pastors/Sr Pastors/Family Pastors (and wives) stay for free. They will normally have about 5 wks you can pick from. They discount the price for all other Church/Ministry Staff positions.

The Settle Inn in Lincoln, NE and the one in Omaha, NE have a pastors room that is free. There is only 1, so you have to book early. They also discount pretty good. It is just a hotel, but it is nice to get away sometimes.
Wondering about the Myrtlewood Villas in SC – the link says the site is under construction. Do you have any other contact information for them?

My husband and I have had it on our hearts to start a B&B ministry and doing the research to get our business plan put together. Our desire is to provide a B&B specifically set aside to be a place of rest and renewal for pastors and missionaries with inn keepers that are retired pastors/missionaries. This is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Selinsgrove, PA and they let Pastor’s and Missionaries stay free. It’s in the woods and absolutely gorgeous!

This is incredible! My husband and I always talk about the biggest difficulty in ministry is as we care for so many…who can we lean into for refreshment and self-care.
