1. The Well-Balanced World Changer: A Field Guide for Staying Sane While Doing Good by Sarah Cunningham

What happens when idealism and reality crash into each other . . . and you?

If you have ever passionately invested yourself in living your faith, championing a cause, or representing some noble ideal, you have probably experienced a face-off between idealism and reality.

When we’re trying to change the world, we meet tension almost daily-between dreams and disappointment, wholeness and dysfunction, past and future. This can lead to disillusionment, frustration, and exhaustion. It brings the temptation to abandon the dreams we were chasing after, to give up on ourselves and the world.

Don’t give in! This book is your survival guide. You can champion your cause and your faith, even in a broken world. Stay in the race and take this guide along as a source of fuel, rest, and encouragement along the way.

This killer book is on super-sale right now on Kindle and might seriously be the best $3.03 you might spend this week. For less than the price of your skinny vanilla latte, you can be both challenged and encouraged like crazy!

2. Girlfriend Revolution Study Guide by Susan Thomas

Screen Shot 2013-12-11 at 12.00.42 AM

Susan Thomas is one of our Mentor Me Mentors. And she is also a licensed counselor, pastor’s wife, mom, friend, and all-around brilliant woman. I am so excited about this study I can hardly stand it. What would happen if we, as women, truly understood what Christ-centered friendships looked like? What about the women of our churches? Our students? Our young adults? Can you imagine the impact of that in their lives and in the life of your church?! Incredible.

…born out of the strong belief that friendship is a good gift from God, yet friendship among women is often very broken.
…A message of HOPE and DIRECTION for experiencing the authentic relationships God has for His girls.
…An eight-week Bible Study (via weekly DVD messages and workbook lessons) teaching God’s revolutionary design for friendship among women.
…Aimed at promoting UNITY in God’s Church by tackling petty fighting, insecurity and bitterness among women.
…An opportunity for women far from God to begin their journey of following Jesus.
…Designed for the new believer as well as the seasoned follower of Christ.
…Created out of a PASSION for women to experience an authentic and intimate FRIENDSHIP with God.
…So much more than a STUDY—It’s an OPPORTUNITY for us to ENCOUNTER GOD and be TRANSFORMED for the better.

3. Sacred Secrets Study Journal by Beth Moore

The Sacred Secrets Study Journal is 6 weeks of personal study segments with group components. Expect interactive material to work through during the week from this study guide and journal, but not specific daily homework.

The world is obsessed with telling secrets for the sake of sensationalism. But not all hidden things are poisonous and dark. Some secrets are forgiven, some are covered, and some are kept between you and God. Find out what happens when we let God teach us “wisdom in the secret heart” (Psalm 51:6, ESV).

Check out the Sacred Secrets Study Journal as well as the DVD curriculum by clicking here.

Winners will be drawn randomly and notified by email. Giveaway ends at midnight Saturday November 14th.

Just comment below and tell us what favorite Christmas movie will you be watching snuggled up on the couch drinking hot chocolate?

We love watching Four Christmases…it’s on our list of movies we traditionally watch every Christmas 🙂

  2. Kristy Lloyd

Home Alone. How can you resist the scary old guy helping him out at the end? Plus, I have boys…I really have no say in the matter.

  3. Marcy Martinez

White Christmas & Preacher’s Wife! It’s not Christmas at my house until the whole family has seen both movies!

  4. Tammy

Mr. Magoo’s “A Christmas Carol” – one of my favourite’s since I was a wee girl. 🙂 Did you know that it was the first animated holiday special ever produced specifically for television?

  5. Iris

Anything Hallmark!! I seriously heart Halkmark Christmasy movies! Oh and don’t even get me started on the commercials!!!! Happy holidays ladies – be blessed!

  6. Jessi Whitt

I know it’s technically not a Christmas movie, but I love watching the original The Sound of Music. They usually play it around Christmas, and it’s a movie I remember always watching with my mom.

  7. Catina Cruz

It’s a Wonderful Life and Elf with my family… with LOTS of mini marshmallows in my chocolate!!!

  8. Suzie G

I love watching serendipity!! Ha–not exactly Christmas Christmas but a great one to snuggle up with the hubby with.

  9. Amy

I’ve already watched many of the funny movies this season but the snuggly, hot chocolate movie is The Polar Express. Coming soon to our house!

  10. Jennie Chambers

The Nativity is my spiritual answer, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is my non-spiritual answer…HA!

  11. Laura Fletcher

After years of “Trapped in Paradise” being the
family’s “must see” Christmas movie, “Elf” has
    now attained the coveted spot.

  12. Lisa Appell

Elf!! Favorite one of all!!! Btw, thanks for the selections you’ve been posting. I hadn’t heard of any of these books and I ended up buying a few to read. And they are good. I wait to see if I’ve won first though! 😉

  13. Rachel Tate

Too many favorites to choose 1! Already watched Home Alone, Elf, many cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies and Scrooge. Every Christmas Eve we end with White Christmas. Actually watch some all year, but don’t tell anyone

  14. Kendra H

Elf and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. My two favorites…I love smiling. Smiling is my favorite.

  15. Claire

i confess i really really like the Santa Clause movies… usually i dislike movies with kids and animals in them (i know crazy eh!) but i love these ones for a few reasons.

    a) my kids love them (even though we dont “do” santa)

    b) juliet from LOST is Mrs Clause from #2 onwards. yip that sold it for me

    c) they’re sweet and family friendly and we laugh a lot together

    d) we watch them every year – its memory making!

  16. Angie Green

Wld is my fave…we have already watched it once. My husband and I have begun a new tradition over the last several years if also watching Christmas Vacation while we get everything ready for the kids on Chriatmas Eve night.

  17. Rochelle Palmer

Well…it’s not traditional, but after the kids are in bed, my husband and I watch Die Hard and then You’ve Got Mail while we wrap gifts/put together gifts, etc… 🙂

  18. Sherri Whiteford

Anything and everything on the Hallmark Channel! Totally non-thinking… you know exactly what is going to happen 5 minutes into the movie!

  19. Shanna Littleton

The Grinch & The Santa Clause movies. I get as equally as excited as the kids do to watch these movies. Love.Them!

  20. Star Forbis

I could watch cheesy Christmas Movies all day! 🙂 But My Favs are The Family Man, It’s a Wonderful Life, Jingle All The Way, I could go on, but I’ll spare you!
