Community Group Registration Begins …

One of the most challenging aspects of leadership is the difficulty in finding friends … people to confide in … or as my friend, Lisa Young, calls them … Soulish Sisters.

I’m sure we all have stories of betrayal, hurt, loneliness. And some may have concluded that you just can’t have friends.

Previous generations of Pastors’ Wives were almost always counseled that if you were in ministry, you simply could not have friends. Some were concerned about jealousy among their church members. Some were concerned about gossip. And some were just concerned about the protection of their hearts.

But our generation of Pastors’ Wives is uniquely positioned to reach beyond our churches and our communities to connect with others in our same shoes … walking on the same road. We are no longer hindered by long distance phone calls and snail-mail letters. We are not limited by distance and boundaries. Thanks to webcams and high speed internet, we can chat face-to-face with women around the country without ever getting out of our PJs or leaving our couches.

We, here at Leading and Loving It, feel that it is important that no Pastors’ Wife or Woman in Ministry do life and leadership alone in isolation. It isn’t necessary … and in many ways, it is unacceptable.

Ephesians 6:18 (Msg) says: Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

The bottom line is … we need each other. We need encouragement. We need support. We need prayer. We need a listening ear. And we need to give those things to others. We need each other.

Today we launch the beginning of registration for our Fall/Spring Virtual Community Groups. There are so many wonderful groups, led by incredible women, to choose from. You can click here to see the frequently asked questions about Virtual Community Groups and also see a video from Tiffany.

If you are already in a VCG, please reregister so that we can get you in our new registration system. We can’t hold your spot until you’ve reregistered.

I live in a small town in rural Kentucky. Up until last year I felt very alone and isolated. Then God led me to L&LI and helped me get up the courage to lead a VCG. I now have PW friends in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas & Alberta, Canada that I can talk to when things in my life & ministry are overwhelming or when God does something great in my personal life! I’ve made wonderful connections this past year and look forward to making many more! God has blessed me so much through you ladies! Thanks for letting me be a part!
