What's Your Flavor Friday … Clumsiness

Friday, March 20th, 2009

esdpadrilles_wedgesOh my word, I’m clumsy. I always have been. I’m constantly bumping into things.

When we were in Mexico, building houses, I fell down a hill and broke my ankle … in Mexico. Not exactly the place you want to be with a broken ankle.

Just last week I fell out of my super cute wedges … again. This time I only went to my knees and did a little ankle and knee twisting. But one time, after we ate at Red Robin, I left carrying a take home box in each hand. I toppled right out of some other cute wedges and fell.

All the way to the ground.

Onto my stomach.

But didn’t drop our food.

But I won’t give up my cute shoes because, truth be told, it probably won’t matter anyway. In fact, I stood up in the middle of writing this post and tripped over the power cord. I didn’t have any shoes on at all. I think I’m just clumsy all around.

So, what about you? Are you the steady-on-your-feet … never fall kinda person? Or are you, like me, horribly uncoordinated? Or somewhere in the middle?

What's Your Flavor … Country & Rock-N-Roll

Friday, March 13th, 2009

A couple of weeks ago my parents came into town to visit. They decided to catch a show and in a moment of pure insanity chose to see “Donny and Marie.” They absolutely loved them and have sworn to go back a second time. I, in turn, have decided to buy my mom a bedazzled “Osmond” shirt since she is now a super-fan.

So, of course that means, this Friday’s question is: Are you a little bit country? Or a little bit rock-n-roll?

Since I am a Texas girl, it might surprise you that I am 0% country. I don’t like country music. I don’t wear cowboy boots. And I don’t eat beef. I’m a big city … little bit rock-n-roll girl at heart.

How about you?

What's Your Flavor … Habit vs Free Spirit

Friday, February 20th, 2009

yellow-window2I’m a creature of habit.

I eat at the same few restaurants. I eat the same thing every time I eat at one of those restaurants.

I shop at one of four stores … every time.

I’ll listen to the same CD until I’ve literally run it into the ground.

I always order the exact same drink every time I’m at Starbucks.

I drive the same route every time I’m going somewhere.

I’d go back to the same vacation spot over … and over … and over.

When I tell the kids to choose a number between 1 and 10, apparently I always think 8.

Jud always beats me at rock, paper, scissors because apparently I always shoot paper. And Jud always wins.

What about you … are you a creature of habit … or more of an adventurous spirit?

What's Your Flavor … Valentine's Day

Friday, February 13th, 2009

heartsSo, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow.

This is usually a very busy weekend in Vegas. The hotels are all booked. The shows are all full. The restaurants are over-flowing. And the grocery stores are depleted of roses.

I’m not a big V-day lover. In fact, I might be  Valentine Scrooge. I’ve admitted a previous case of Scrooge-i-ness. Here’s another case. Sure I’ll get something for the kids and do the parties at school. But Jud and I will be passing this little holiday up. We’ll be at church, just like every other Saturday night. Not too big on the – show me that you love me one day a year – business.

I might try to use Valentines as an excuse to get Jud to watch a chick-flick of some sort. I’m due after the long string of “shoot ‘em ups” that we’ve seen lately.

So … Valentines Day: Take it or Leave it?

And are you going to do anything fun or special?

What's Your Flavor … Cars

Friday, February 6th, 2009

MinivanI drive an ultra-cool, silver Honda minivan. Ok … maybe it isn’t ultra cool, but it is pretty great if you have kids. But I love Hondas. I don’t ever want to buy anything but a Honda. I used to have a CRV (LOVED IT) but it didn’t have back air conditioning which is a must have in 120 degree Vegas heat!

What is your car flavor? Foreign or domestic?
